It looks like Microsoft is looking to bring in a “pick your own plan” approach to its video game subscription service, Xbox Game Pass.
This comes from Jez Corden of Windows Central, who wrote that according to his sources, the “longer-term” goal for Game Pass is for it to be more “flexible.” “A sort of ‘pick your own plan’ formula for Xbox Game Pass is on the cards, essentially, where users can effectively decide what packages of content they want to see as part of their plan,” Corden wrote.
Xbox Game Pass has been the talk of the town recently. The company recently dropped the price of its Ultimate subscription tier. The report further added that two codenames for Xbox Game Pass have also been found through the back-end API’s. The codenames are “Duet” and “Triton”. If this turns out to be true, then players would be able to tailor their Game Pass plans according to their needs.
Microsoft Gaming CEO Teases Discord and Xbox Game Pass Partnership
The newly appointed Microsoft Gaming CEO, Asha Sharma, has teased a partnership between Xbox Game Pass and Discord. The CEO took to X/Twitter saying that Xbox and Discord have “worked together” for years, to make it “easier for players to connect, chat, and play across devices.”
“We’re teaming up again as we continue to make Game Pass more flexible for our players. Some of you might start to see some code in the wild, and we will share more details with you all soon!” the CEO added.
Xbox Mobile Store idea “not dead”
Microsoft’s Xbox mobile store app, which was looking like it would launch, is “not dead”, even though the store URL isn’t working anymore.
X/Twitter user redphx, took to the platform saying, “I think it’s safe to say that the Xbox Mobile Store is no longer a thing, xbox.com/mobilestore now redirects to a 404 page.”
The new Microsoft Gaming CEO, however, shared, “Three weeks ago, we filed an amicus because mobile competition still matters and we believe the future of play should be more open.”
Sharma added, “While I am still learning, the idea of an Xbox mobile store is not dead.”
Xbox Game Pass To Reportedly Get More Call of Duty Games
A new report by PC Gamer claims that a source has told them Activision “plans” to add more Call of Duty titles to Game Pass this year.
Meanwhile, players can check out wave 2 of Xbox Game Pass’ lineup for April 2026, which consists of Vampire Crawlers: The Turbo Wildcard, Kiln, Aphelion, and more.
