Tere Ishk Mein vs Raanjhanaa Box Office: Dhanush Poised To Double His Bollywood Debut Opening

Mumbai, November 26 – Dhanush is returning to Bollywood with director Anand L Rai’s Tere Ishk Mein, and the film is carrying strong momentum. With solid buzz, impressive music, and rising anticipation across markets, the romantic drama, also starring Kriti Sanon, is shaping up to be one of the most promising Hindi releases of the season.

Back in 2012, Dhanush made his Bollywood debut with Rai’s Raanjhanaa, a film that gradually turned into a cult favourite among audiences. It opened well back then with 5 crore net, setting the stage for his journey in Hindi cinema. Now, over a decade later, the scenario looks far more dynamic, with trade expecting Tere Ishk Mein to deliver an opening of 10 crore+ net, possibly 15+ crore start, doubling the opening figure of Raanjhanaa.

Dhanush has done only 3 Hindi films since his debut, and one of them, Atrangi Re (2021), again directed by Rai, debuted directly on OTT. The 12-year gap between the actor’s Bollywood debut and Tere Ishk Mein highlights how significantly Dhanush’s stature has grown. His consistent success in South Indian cinema, expanding fanbase, and strengthened nationwide appeal are all contributing to the heightened interest around Tere Ishk Mein.

The film’s good pre-sales and encouraging early trends further signal that the romantic drama is on course for a career-best Hindi opening, at least by a 2x margin, for the National Award-winning actor. Tere Ishk Mein will not only surpass Dhanush’s previous Bollywood benchmarks but also reaffirm his position as a true pan-India star capable of commanding big numbers across languages.

Stay tuned…
