It seems Travis Kelce can already hear the bells, because he just made a rare comment about his upcoming wedding with Taylor Swift.
Earlier this week, during an episode of his New Heights podcast, which he co-hosts with his brother, Jason, the NFL star landed on the subject of his wedding during a conversation with professional golfer Rory McIlroy.
It occurred when McIlroy started discussing his upcoming role as host for the Masters Champions Dinner (due to him winning the tournament for the second year in a row this past April).
As he reflected on his previous time hosting the event, McIlroy noted: “Travis, you’ll feel this this year whenever you’re sitting at your wedding, and you have all the people in a room from like—it’s amazing to have all these people in the same room from your childhood…and it’s surreal. It’s unbelievable. The the only thing that I can compare it to is your wedding day because it’s like all this collection of people in the same room. It’s wild.” (McIlroy married his wife, Erica Stoll, back in 2017.)
In response to this comment, Kelce expressed his excitement for his wedding day, saying: “I can’t wait.”
While it was a brief acknowledgement of the upcoming nuptials, Swift and Kelce have decided to keep the details of their wedding quite hush-hush, ever since they announced their engagement this past August.
Still, when you’re as famous as these two are, a few details are bound to slip out. For instance, Page Six reported that the save-the-dates were sent out and the ceremony has been scheduled for July 3, with the event set to take place in New York City.
Per Us Weekly, the couple has invited around 150 people, and they’re hoping for a somewhat traditional affair, with “all the classic touches, like the father-daughter and mother-son dances.” Meanwhile, fellow celebrities Selena Gomez and Gigi Hadid are apparently a part of Swift’s bridal party, and her dress design was inspired by Elizabeth Taylor.
“You would think that I had been the type of person who would have obsessed over the idea of a wedding my whole life, but I actually never thought about what I would ever do or what I would want until I met the person,” the pop superstar revealed on Heart Radio last October.
Now, it seems that special moment is finally right around the corner.
