Ranveer Singh created history in 2025 and 2026 with his films Dhurandhar and Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The actor not only impressed the audience with his top-notch performances but also took the box office by storm with back-to-back record-breaking blockbusters. His powerful screen presence, mass appeal, and versatility helped both films emerge as massive commercial successes, cementing his position as one of the biggest superstars of Indian cinema. Now, Deepika Padukone’s father and the badminton legend, Prakash Padukone, has opened up about his bond with his son-in-law. He also reviewed Dhurandhar and called it a “great movie.”

While speaking to the Indian Express, Prakash Padukone reflected on Dhurandhar and praised the film’s craftsmanship and widespread audience appeal. He also noted that it resonated strongly with viewers, even though it had a little bit too much violence. He said, “It’s a great film. It’s a very well-made film with good acting by everybody. We felt there was a little bit too much violence, but the majority of people liked it, so I think that’s more important.”

The badminton icon further revealed that the two families share a close-knit bond and often spend quality time together, including family vacations. Reflecting on his relationship with Ranveer, Prakash Padukone said their conversations frequently revolve around each other’s fields of expertise. While he often turns to the actor to better understand the intricacies of the film industry, Ranveer is equally curious about the world of sports and regularly seeks his insights. He said, “There are a lot of common interests, as he’s very interested in sports. He keeps talking to me about sports, and I keep asking him about movies as I want to learn about the business. We don’t get so much time, as they are all busy, but whatever time we get, we like to sit together and enjoy whether it’s football or cricket. He is an Arsenal fan, and our daughter Anisha is a Manchester United fan, so there are these common interests.”

Meanwhile, Dhurandhar 2, released in March this year, is helmed by Aditya Dhar. It also features Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, Danish Pandor, and R Madhavan in key roles.
