Popular as Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’s iconic vamp Payal, she has shared the heartbreaking story hidden behind her incredible on-screen persona.

In a recent chat, the actress revealed the pain she was silently carrying and the deep childhood wounds in a heartbreaking family environment.

Those who have still not been able to guess, let us help you. We are talking about Jaya Bhattacharya.

Jaya shared that her parents were trapped in a toxic marriage and added that being born a girl child felt like her biggest misfortune in that household.

Talking about her mother’s anger, she revealed, “I have been beaten with a hunter, rolling pin, tong, shoes and everything. It made me stubborn. I have damaged myself a lot.”

Despite the painful atmosphere at home, Jaya deeply loved her father, but her strained relationship with her mother stayed unsettled for years.

She said her personal struggles in the family taught her everything that she shouldn’t do, like constantly judging others and not being supportive of your child.

Acting was never her dream. Instead, she wanted to pursue dance and music. But family pressure pushed her into showbiz after a telefilm role came her way.

She recalled how her father woke her at 5 am the next day and took her to the shoot, even though she didn’t want to go.

Jaya also spoke about facing the casting couch at 17 or 18, when a director’s friend began visiting her home daily.

She later discovered the man had links to the mafia. The man even offered to take her to Mumbai but she refused.

Despite the trauma, Jaya built a respected acting career. She was last seen in Delhi Crime Season 3, sharing screen space with Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, Huma Qureshi and others.
