Soccer Aid LIVE: Result as Jermaine Defoe, Angry Ginge and Joe Marler star in England’s win over World XI

Robbie Williams announces that this year’s Soccer Aid for Unicef has raised a record £16.4m. England’s Wayne Rooney and Angry Ginge lift the Soccer Aid trophy.

But World XI rallied with goals from Michael Essien and Tim Cahill, with England requiring key blocks and saves from player of the match Angry Ginge and goalkeeper Joe Marler, who denied Nemanja Matic and Jordi Alba, to get over the line.

Marler reveals it’s the “biggest buzz I’ve had in 10 years and I only retired [from rugby] 18 months ago”.
