Selena Gomez has really made the sleek bob her signature look this year. The singer and actress first debuted her sharp, blunt chop a few years ago. Since then, her bob has been through a few distinct eras. This summer, she rocked a shaggy, curly version of the bob. In last year’s Emilia Perez, her bob went platinum blonde. And for her wedding in September, she opted for an old Hollywood-style wavy bob. But for her latest appearance, Gomez decided to switch things up by adding some unexpected length back into her look.

Attending a screening of The Testament of Ann Lee on December 12 in Los Angeles, Gomez swapped her short hair for a long, full high ponytail that served up some 1960s nostalgia. She paired her new, longer locks with a chic black minidress with an asymmetrical one-shoulder design, which she wore with black tights and heels.She completed the look with a pair of silver hoops.
Gomez posed arm-in-arm with Ann Lee star Amanda Seyfried, who also looked chic in a plunging LBD.

Gomez previously added a little length back into her hair this summer when she briefly tried out the viral butterfly layered cut.
As Gomez explained to Vogue back in 2022, she enjoys playing around with different sides of herself through her hairstyles. “I think it’s different when my hair is wavy and down, but it’s pretty short right now,” she said. “I feel very business-esque [with this bob hairstyle]. I also usually love to do a [slick] bun as it’s something simple and easy to do, and it gives you that snatched look.”
