Television actress Sanchita Ugale’s death has not only left everyone in shock but has also triggered a massive debate about mental health. Amid reports that the 22-year-old actress was facing mental health issues for sometime now, her close friend Geetanjali has also come out, sharing some heartbreaking details.
In a recent interview with Telly Talk India, Geetanjali urged everyone not to speculate anything regarding Sanchita’s death and said, “You do not know the truth.” She addressed claims about Sanchita’s personal life and added, “You are questioning her career. You are linking her to all kinds of relationships. She was not in any relationship.”
Geetanjali claimed that Sanchita had confided in her after returning from a shoot in Gujarat. As per Geetanjali, the actress told her about how she does not feel emotionally invested in her work. When Geetanjali tried to cheer up the late actress, the latter reportedly told her, “No, I do not feel good about anything. What kind of life is this? It feels very torturous to me.”
Geetanjali further claimed that Sanchita had been living with depression since the beginning of the year. “She was in depression, of course. I think this began in January,” she said.
The late actress’ friend also claimed that members of the production team took Sanchita to multiple doctors to help her. “People from the production themselves used to take her to doctors,” she said.
Geetanjali claimed that because of her struggles with her mental health Sanchita would not even sleep for days and would speak about wanting to die. “If a person says so many times that they will die by suicide, then it was not sudden. For six months she had been saying that she wanted to die, that she did not want to live,” she said.
What Happened To Sanchita Ugale?
According to police officials, Sanchita allegedly died by suicide after hanging herself in a locked room at her residence. She was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. An Accidental Death Report (ADR) has been registered and investigators are examining all possible angles, including her personal and professional life.
