OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite is set to launch in India on 7 May, and OnePlus is pitching it as a major step up for its affordable Nord line. The phone will debut alongside the Nord CE 6 and will be sold via Amazon, the OnePlus online store and offline retail partners.
OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite aims at power users
At the heart of the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite is MediaTek’s Dimensity 7400 Apex chipset, built on a 4nm process and paired with UFS 3.1 storage for faster app launches and smoother multitasking. OnePlus says the hardware combination scores above 1,030,000 points on the AnTuTu benchmark, suggesting solid mid-range performance. The phone runs OxygenOS 16 based on Android, with OnePlus promising long-term software support and Google Gemini integration for AI-driven features.
The OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite features a 6.7–6.72-inch Full HD LCD with a dynamic refresh rate that scales from 1Hz up to 120Hz in regular use, and can reach 144Hz for supported games. OnePlus is also optimising the device for high-frame-rate titles, targeting up to 90fps in shooter games and up to 144fps in runner games.
Big battery, fast charging and durability
A 7000mAh battery is the centrepiece of the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite, with the company claiming up to two days of use on a single charge in typical conditions. OnePlus says the battery is designed to retain up to 80 per cent of its health even after six years of usage, and supports fast SUPERVOOC charging, though exact wattage differs across marketing materials. A 5,300mm² vapour chamber cooling system is included to keep temperatures in check during prolonged gaming or heavy workloads.
On the camera front, the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite offers a 50MP primary rear camera capable of recording 4K video, alongside an 8MP front camera for selfies and video calls. The phone is rated to meet MIL-STD-810H standards and offers protection against dust and everyday splashes, adding a layer of durability uncommon in this price bracket.
AI features and India launch details
OxygenOS 16 on the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite brings a suite of AI-assisted tools, including Motion Photos with 4K support, AI Perfect Shot, AI Eraser, AI Detail Boost, AI Portrait Glow and AI Reframe. Google’s Gemini features, including Gemini Live with camera and screen-sharing support and Circle to Search, are integrated to provide contextual assistance and smarter search.
The OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite will be offered in Vivid Mint and Hyper Black colour options in India, marking the return of the CE Lite series after a two-year gap. Pricing has not yet been revealed and will be announced at the launch event on 7 May at 12:00 IST, where OnePlus is expected to position the device as a value-focused “heavyweight” in the mid-range segment.
