Oakley and Meta have teamed up to launch the Oakley Meta Vanguard in India, a pair of AI-powered smart glasses built specifically for athletes and fitness enthusiasts. The glasses is now available across retail locations in India, priced at Rs 52,300.The Vanguard isn’t your typical smart eyewear. It packs a 12-megapixel wide-angle camera that shoots hands-free POV footage at up to 3K resolution, complete with slow-motion and hyperlapse modes. For runners and cyclists who’ve struggled with flimsy smart glasses, Oakley has gone with an IP67 rating, meaning these can handle dust, sweat, and even a splash without flinching. What makes this launch interesting for Indian users is the Hindi language support baked into Meta AI. You can ask “Hey Meta, what’s my heart rate?” in Hindi and get real-time stats from your connected Garmin device. There’s also UPI Lite payment support, a clear nod to localising the product for the Indian market.
Oakley Meta Vanguard’s are built for long rides and noisy roads
Battery life sits at nine hours of mixed use or six hours of continuous audio playback. The included case adds another 36 hours, and a quick 20-minute charge gets you to 50 per cent. The open-ear speakers are six decibels louder than the previous Oakley Meta HSTN model, designed to cut through traffic noise or headwinds on a bike.Deepika Padukone has signed on as a celebrity AI voice option for the assistant, joining Meta’s global lineup of recognisable voices. The glasses come in four colourways with Oakley’s Prizm lens tech for enhanced contrast and colour. They’re available at Sunglass Hut, LensCrafters, and leading optical retailers across the country.
