An inspiring evening celebrating Torah, growth, and commitment to mitzvos took place on Thursday evening 18-year-old Monsey resident Ushi Hess marked a major milestone for his popular “Tefillin App,” which has now recorded more than 100,000 times boys put on Tefillin.
Ushi launched the app approximately one year ago with the goal of encouraging and motivating boys to put on Tefillin daily. The app was designed to help boys who may be struggling with consistency, need daily reminders, or simply want extra inspiration and chizuk.
The app features personalized reminders and a daily raffle, where users who mark that they wrapped Tefillin are entered to win cash prizes. Until now, the daily raffle prize stood at $50.
The celebration, held in honor of the app’s one-year anniversary and incredible growth, drew many boys and supporters for an uplifting night filled with music, inspiration, and emotional stories. Entertainment featured Meilach Braunstein, Sruly Green, and guest singers, while Reb Shlomo Ehrlich addressed the crowd and shared a powerful story about one of the boys impacted through the app.
Organizers said the event was carefully designed to show the importance and value of the mitzvah of Tefillin and to inspire participants to continue strengthening their commitment.
During the event, a major surprise announcement was made thanks to the generosity of Philanthropist Reb Shlome Feder, who pledged to sponsor an additional $50 daily prize. Beginning immediately, the app’s daily raffle prize will now increase from $50 to $100 each day.
Attendees described the evening as an emotional and uplifting experience filled with inspiration, achdus, and appreciation for the impact the app has had on so many boys over the past year.
