The loanee has experienced a revitalised campaign since his switch to Camp Nou, having been sidelined under Ruben Amorim during the previous season. The 28-year-old has played a crucial part under Hansi Flick, registering 14 goals and 14 assists this term.
His performances have earned the admiration of United prospect Gabriel, who sent a straightforward message to Rashford. “Top,” he wrote in the comments beneath Rashford’s celebratory Instagram post.
Gabriel has maintained his own remarkable development. Still only 15, the teenager has already trained alongside the club’s senior squad and contributed 27 goals and assists in 26 appearances for United’s under-18s as they advanced to the FA Youth Cup final.
He posted on Instagram: “More than a club, it’s a family! The League champions 2026”. That message was accompanied by images of Barca’s La Liga title parade.
Rashford has also made clear his desire to remain in Catalonia. Speaking following the victory over Real Madrid, he said: “I don’t know, I’m not a magician.
“If I was, I’d stay, so we’ll see! I came here to win. I want to win as many things as I can and this is one more to add.
“This team is going to win so much in the future, too, so being part of that would be special.”
The Spanish giants are keen to retain the forward, but only if they can structure a deal that aligns with their current financial constraints. Rashford’s salary has proved a stumbling block, despite his willingness to take a considerable cut in earnings.
Barcelona are also reportedly open to arranging a further loan deal. Rashford has just a single year remaining on his contract with United.
