This fall’s iPhone 18 lineup is less than half a year away, but next year is rumored to bring a radical new 20th anniversary iPhone model. Here’s what the latest leaks say about the ‘iPhone 20’ display.
Design details rumored for next year’s 20th anniversary iPhone
Apple’s rumored iPhone roadmap contains several exciting and unique new models.
This fall, the foldable iPhone Ultra will be unlike any iPhone model before it. It will offer a two-in-one type device, combining iPhone and iPad-like experiences in one product.
Next year, rumors say Apple is working on another radical new model timed with the iPhone’s 20th anniversary.
We’ve seen reports that the ‘iPhone 20’ design will be the closest Apple has gotten to Jony Ive’s dream “single slab of glass.”
And today Weibo leaker Digital Chat Station has shared new details about the iPhone’s display.
He says Apple is working with Samsung to produce a display that has:
- Four-sided subtle micro-curve
- A “Pol-less” design
We’ve heard before that the iPhone will have a quad-curve design, but the ‘micro-curve’ detail refers to how far the curve extends over the edge of the iPhone.
With a micro-curve, it should only slightly curve around each edge, thus giving the appearance of being bezel-free without the trouble of accidental input when you’re holding the phone.
Meanwhile, removing the polarizer layer from the display could help in a variety of ways—with brightness, thickness, and efficiency.
