Based on reports fresh from the rumor mill, Samsung is preparing to release its budget-focused Galaxy A27 smartphone later this month, as soon as June 22. Unfortunately, a price hike is expected compared to last year’s A26 model, with both the 128GB and 256GB getting an increase – likely something else to blame on the widespread memory and storage shortages.
Galaxy A27 first surfaced online a couple of months back, revealing a base 6GB model and Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor specs. An 8GB RAM version is also expected, reserved for the top 256GB storage model. That means two configurations should be available, though a more recent leak suggests some regions will be limited to the 6GB RAM / 128GB storage variant at launch.
Samsung Galaxy A27 specs, price rumors, and release date prediction
Samsung’s new Galaxy A27 5G model has (seemingly mistakenly) been uploaded to its official Czech website, so we can have a much closer look at its official specifications and features, at least for this region and likely wider Europe. First off, it will be available in Blue, Black, Light Green, and Light Pink colorways and offer a 6.7-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED 120Hz display.
The official site confirms the 8-core Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip, and only makes reference to the 6GB/128GB model. French publication Dealabs also reports that this configuration will be the only variant available at launch in France, which may indicate that other European markets will experience a limited launch. We cannot speak for the U.S. market right now.
Interestingly, Samsung compares the A27 to the A25 in a small specs rundown, as the 6.7″ screen is larger in comparison, while the thickness has dropped from 8.3mm to 7.8mm. The new A27 has an IP64 water resistance rating and a 5,000 mAh battery, offering up to 23 hours of video playback. Unsurprisingly, it will run on Android 16 (the latest version) at launch.
As for the price, Dealabs claims the 6GB/128GB variant will be priced at €369 in France, which is €20 more than the figures suggested by reliable tech leaker Roland Quandt on Bluesky. According to Quandt, the 8GB/256GB and 6GB/128GB configuations will be priced at €349 and €439, respectively. This works out as €50 and €70 more expensive than the A26 equivalents at launch.
The rumored release date also comes from Dealabs, who say it is “expected as early as” June 22, with no guarantee just yet. According to its sources, there are several potential dates being discussed. Either way, we should soon hear something from Samsung.
