French Open Day 6 Predictions Including Andreeva vs Bouzkova

The field is narrowing at the French Open and, as the first week comes to an end, it will be whittled down further still by the end of day six. As always, we here at LWOT will be offering our predictions for all eight matches on the sixth day at Roland Garros, including Iga Swiatek vs Magda Linette, but who will book their spot in the round of 16 in Paris?

French Open Day 6 Predictions

Mirra Andreeva vs Marie Bouzkova

Tope: Mirra Andreeva had to shake off a brief scare before reasserting control against Marina Bassols Ribera, and that same resilience makes her a clear favourite heading into a familiar matchup with Marie Bouzkova. The head-to-head tells a one-sided story 4-0 to Andreeva, including two wins already this season and a clean sweep without dropping a set and on clay she’s already beaten Bouzkova in Madrid, adding even more psychological weight.

Bouzkova may have steadied herself against Fran Jones, but unless she finds a new gear, Andreeva’s depth, timing, and clay-court maturity should once again dictate the tempo from the baseline and keep the Russian firmly in control.

Prediction: Andreeva in 2

Jordan: It is important for Andreeva to show her temperament has improved in this match. Bouzkova gets a lot of balls into play and tries to frustrate her opponents. I think the former French Open semifinalist will handle this challenge.

Prediction: Andreeva in 2

Nurein: Andreeva faced a scare in the last round where she dropped the first set to Bassols Ribera. But the turnaround was swift and emphatic. She continues to look increasingly comfortable in Grand Slam matches. Bouzkova’s consistency and defensive discipline can make rallies physically demanding, but I fancy Andreeva’s depth to be the difference.

Prediction: Andreeva in 2

Wang Xiyu vs Yuliia Starodubtseva

Tope: Yuliia Starodubtseva arrives with serious momentum after stunning second seed Elena Rybakina in a three-set thriller, surviving a tense decider to close it out and now she meets Xiyu Wang, who progressed after Hailey Baptiste was forced to retire, meaning the Chinese player comes in fresher but with less battle rhythm. If the Ukrainian can manage the physical dip after her marathon upset, her aggression and belief should still carry her through another tight battle.

Prediction: Starodubtseva in 2

Jordan: Both women have pretty similar styles. Each tries to play aggressively without being among the biggest hitters in women’s tennis. This could go either way, but Wang is narrowly favoured.

Prediction: Wang in 3

Nurein: Starodubteva scored a massive win in the previous win, knocking out Australian Open champion Rybakina. She played an incredible match. The Ukrainian has been full of energy and I can’t see Wang overpowering her, having just taken down of the tour’s best ball strikers.

Prediction: Starodubtseva in 2

Marta Kostyuk vs Viktorija Golubic

Tope: Marta Kostyuk steps in as the clear form player and looks determined to keep her perfect clay-court streak alive when she meets Viktorija Golubic for a third time. The Ukrainian has been untouchable on the surface in 2026, riding a 13-match winning run that’s already delivered titles in Rouen and Madrid, and she’s playing with the kind of confidence that makes even tight matches feel one-sided.

Golubic, ranked outside the top 80, has yet to take a set off Kostyuk in their previous meetings, and this will be their first on clay, hardly encouraging given the matchup dynamics and unless there’s a dramatic shift, Kostyuk’s current momentum should once again prove too much to disrupt.

Prediction: Kostyuk in 2

Jordan: Golubic’s one-handed backhand is stylish and rare in women’s tennis. However, it represents a weakness against Kostyuk’s, whose two-hander is among the best. The Ukrainian should be able to target that wing effectively to triumph and reach the fourth round at the French Open.

Prediction: Kostyuk in 2

Nurein: Kostyuk’s clay-court level has remained very solid this swing and is still undefeated. Golubic’s variety and slices can frustrate opponents, but I think Kostyuk’s grit and athleticism will be on display here.

Prediction: Kostyuk in 3

Bellinda Bencic vs Peyton Stearns

Tope: Belinda Bencic arrives with real intent to finally break new ground at Roland Garros, and her dominant dismantling of Caty McNally underlined just how sharp she looks at the French Open. The 11th seed has been efficient, controlled, and increasingly confident on clay in 2026, and that all-round stability should again be her anchor in pressure moments. But Peyton Stearns won’t be a straightforward step aside but the Swiss’ consistency and superior point construction should tell when it matters most.

Prediction: Bencic in 3

Jordan: Stearns usually tries to dominate the rallies with her forehand. Bencic’s forehand has been significantly improved since she returned from maternity leave, and is every bit as good as her backhand. That makes winning this a tough ask for Stearns.

Prediction: Bencic in 2

Nurein: Stearns has looked physically excellent through the opening rounds and her aggressive baseline game has translated well onto clay. But Bencic brings more experience and cleaner timing through the court. I’ll take the Swiss to edge this.

Prediction: Bencic in 3
