Former Bachelor finalist Madison Prewett is opening up about her marriage — and why she proudly calls herself a “submissive wife.”
On the Monday, December 1 episode of her Stay True podcast, Prewett, 29, admitted the dynamic didn’t come naturally at first. “I learned a lot about being a submissive wife, [which] was a challenge for me,” she said, before adding that it’s now “my favorite thing. I love talking about submission.”
Prewett said marriage exposed unexpected flaws in herself, admitting she struggled with wanting to be “right all the time.” She credits prayer — and a shared routine of praying together — for bringing unity during a “challenging and hard” first six months.

Prewett explained that after she and husband Grant Troutt, also 29, wed, they faced turbulent times due to scrutiny surrounding their engagement after three months of dating and deaths in their families, which weighed heavily on the couple.
The faith-based author also revisited their commitment to abstain from sex before marriage, confessing that once the ring was on her finger, “it almost feels like we’re married,” adding that engaged couples should “put up the extra boundaries and have your accountability partners,” to prevent premarital sex.
Prewett and Troutt exchanged vows in October 2022 and welcomed daughter Hosanna in January.
