Emily Blunt Clears Up A ‘Rumor’ About Herself That ‘Broke The Internet’

Emily Blunt is coming clean to all her tater haters.

On Thursday’s episode of the popular YouTube show “Hot Ones” — in which celebrities are interviewed while eating increasingly spicy wings — host Sean Evans asked “The Devil Wears Prada 2” star about a viral roast potato recipe that’s been attributed to her.

“I really have to clear up this rumor that I invented these roast potatoes,” Blunt admitted to Evans. “They have been named ‘Emily‘s Roast Potatoes.’ They really aren’t mine.”

In 2018, the “Quiet Place” star appeared on an episode of the Food Network’s “Bearfoot Contessa” and whipped up a “staple” roast potato recipe that her family has been making for years.

Host Ina Garten was so impressed with the simple recipe that in 2020 she included it in her cookbook “Modern Comfort Food” and named the dish “Emily’s English Roasted Potatoes.”

In 2022, Garten told the “Oppenheimer” star that she posted Blunt’s recipe on Instagram and it “blew up.”

“Everyone’s like, Emily’s potatoes just broke the internet,” Garten said.

“This is, like, a classic English thing that everyone cooks every single Sunday,” Blunt told Evans on “Hot Ones” Thursday. “But I don’t know if America has quite got on board with this tradition.”

She added that her friends back in England have been side-eyeing her ever since Garten bestowed her with the honor.

“I think all of my British friends are like, ‘You didn’t invent roast potatoes,’” Blunt told Evans. “And I’m like, ‘I know.’ But if Ina Garten wants to call them ‘Emily’s Roast Potatoes,’ I’m absolutely delighted.”
