
Mahindra gained a position over Tata Motors emerging as the No. 2 best-selling automaker in India for Nov 2025
Retail sales reports as released by FADA (Federation of Automobile Dealers Association) for the month of November 2025 has seen a year-on-year growth across the passenger vehicle segment while 2W sales declined while CV sales also ended the month with stronger growth. Retail sales (dealer to customer), bucked the general trend of a post-festive slowdown and was driven by a more positive market outlook and new model launches.
While assessing retail sales across various segments, the two wheeler segment saw its sales decline 3.1% YoY. PV sales were up 19.71% while it suffered a 28.88% MoM decline. The CV segment also saw a 19.94% YoY growth while sales dipped 14.46% MoM.
Car Retail Sales Nov 2025
Passenger vehicles registered a 19.7% YoY growth at 3,94,152 units in Nov 2025. This was a substantial improvement from 3,29,253 units sold in Nov 2024. Lending to this growth were factors such as the revised GST benefits, high demand during the marriage season and an equitable balance between demand and supply with shorter waiting periods for top spec models. Almost all automakers on this list, with the exception of MG Motor and Nissan have shown off strong YoY growth in retail sales.


Maruti Suzuki once again commanded a top spot with 1,55,321 unit sales in the past month, a growth over 1,30,145 units sold in Nov 2024. Currently commanding a 39.41% market share, it was models such as the new Victoris that boosted demand. Mahindra gained its No. 2 spot on this list after it was overtaken by Tata Motors in Oct 2025. Mahindra sales were up at 53,997 units last month, a YoY growth over 44,588 units. Market share improved from 13.45% to 13.70% YoY as well.
With 52,044 unit sales last month, Tata Motors has seen a massive YoY growth from 42,386 units sold in the same month last year. The new Sierra will play a major role in boosting sales up ahead with its long list of features and updated technology and safety equipment. Hyundai sales improved to 49,567 units from 45,194 units on a YoY basis to command a 12.58% market share. The newly launched Venue had been well received and bookings have quickly reached new heights.

There was also a strong improvement in YoY sales for Toyota Kirloskar Motors in Nov 2025. Sales went up to 22,320 units from 21,150 units. Kia India accounted for 23,805 unit retail sales last month, well over 19,125 units sold in Nov 2024. Skoda India sales went up to 9,316 units from 5,993 units YoY while Honda Cars sold 5,264 units in the past month from 4,648 units sold in the same month last year.
JSW MG Motor has accounted for a decline in retail sales. Numbers dipped to 4,400 units from 5,235 units bringing down market share to 1.12%. There are however, a few upcoming launches that could bring in new demand with the Majestor currently on its test rounds while the MG Hector facelift is set to come in with significant feature updates. There was also Renault that has seen sales improve to 3,397 units from 2,996 units on a YoY basis. Nissan India sales declined to 1,938 units from 2,408 units.
Luxury Car Sales Nov 2025
Across the luxury car segment, each of the automakers on this list have seen an improvement in demand. Mercedes sales went up to 1,542 units in Nov 2025 from 1,453 units sold in Nov 2024. BMW also showed stronger demand at 1,366 units from 1,063 units Jaguar sales grew to 399 units from 335 units on a YoY basis.
There was BYD India with 425 unit sales last month, up from 367 units sold in Nov 2024 while Stellantis Group (Jeep and Citroen) sales were at 1,257 units, well over 851 units sold in the same month last year. There were others on this list that added 2,794 units to total retail sales, a YoY growth from 1,316 units sold in Nov 2024.
