Hyundai Motor Group is the official partner of 2026 FIFA World Cup and at this grand stage, the company is expected to reveal their next gen i20 hatchback. I20 has been one of Hyundai’s most popular premium hatchbacks on sale. Ahead of its official reveal, official studio pictures of next-gen Hyundai i20 have been leaked online.
These leaked images give us a better insight of what we can expect with this upcoming hatchback, which is slated to launch in India as well. The new leaked images show us next gen i20’s exteriors and interiors.
New Hyundai i20 Leaked
Ahead of its official debut at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, new Hyundai i20 exterior and interior official studio shots have been leaked online. When compared to the current i20 hatchback, we can see a radical change with the new i20. Silhouette has become more angular and with a squarish aesthetic, sort of like a crossover, than a hatchback.
The door frame is now angular and the roof is flat-ish. Window line is rising and towards the C Pillar area, this window line gets a steep rise and it merges into the roof. There is thick body cladding offered with new i20 on wheel arches, doors and running boards, which adds a SUV-ish aesthetic.
Headlights are now connected with an LED bar in the middle and they end with Y-shaped LED DRLs, sort of like a Lamborghini. Actual headlight elements are below the DRL in the conventionally positioned assembly. There is a radar cut-out in the lower grille for ADAS suite, but fog lights are missing.
New ORVMs, all-four disc brakes, stylish dual-tone alloy wheel design, conventional door handles, connected LED tail lights, shark fin antenna, faux skid plate like elements in bumpers, blackened pillars are some of the most notable elements seen from these leaked images.
New Interior Overhaul
On the inside, we can see an entirely new cabin with new Hyundai i20 with minimal to no similarities with current model. Seats are all new with five adjustable headrests and i20 branding, there is a front centre armrest, revised door trims, leatherette upholstery and more. At the front, we can see a completely new dashboard, centre console and steering wheel.
Speaking of, new i20 adopts the quad dot Hyundai logo with steering mounted controls on either ends and paddle shifters. There are vertical air vents now and the dashboard is dominated by dual 12.3-inch screens positioned in a curved housing. Below it, we can see vertically oriented climate control panels with touch-based controls and a physical dial.
Centre console gets dual Type-C ports, wireless charging pad, gear selector, electronic parking brake with auto hold and other elements. Powertrain details, boot space capacity and official specs are yet to be revealed. In India, the same 1.2L 4-cyl NA Petrol engine is expected for standard i20 and an N Line version with a 1.0L 3-cyl Turbo Petrol engine may be revealed later.
