Xenoblade Genesis reveals director, composers, character designers

Nintendo didn’t have a whole lot to say about Xenoblade Genesis following the Direct reveal, but we now have information about its director, composers, and character designers.

First up, Tetsuya Takashi is acting as general director. That shouldn’t come as a big surprise given his involvement with the franchise and Monolith Soft as a whole.

Yoko Shimomura is the main composer of Xenoblade Genesis. Some fans may remember that Shimomura worked on the very first Xenoblade Chronicles. She’s had a long and legendary career having also done compositions for Mario & Luigi, Super Mario RPG, Kingdom Hearts, and much more.

Note that Shimomura isn’t alone. Other composers are involved – Mariam Abounnasr and Aimi Kiyota are also working on the game. The game also features the chorus of Anuna, which recorded four songs for Xenoblade Chronicles 2.

Finally, Mai Yoneyama and Palow are handling the character designs together. Palow previously worked on Ino for Xenoblade Chronicles 3.

Xenoblade Genesis is set to debut on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027. You can get a look at the game here.
