WTA Madrid Day 3 Predictions Including Swiatek vs Snigur
Day 3 at the WTA 1000 in Madrid will see the debut of the seeds, with several intriguing matchups in prospect. Despite being a clay tournament, the altitude makes Madrid play quite fast, leading to very different matches than you usually see in Rome or Roland Garros and making results even more unpredictable than usual.
WTA Madrid Day 3 Predictions
Belinda Bencic vs Petra Marcinko
Head-to-head: first meeting
While Bencic isn’t having a great season, her losses have mostly come to top ranked players and she has done a good job of defeating those below her. With that in mind, Marcinko is unlikely to cause her many issues here and it should be Bencic advancing to third round.
Prediction: Bencic in 2
Ann Li vs Alycia Parks
Head-to-head: Parks 1-0 Li
Although Li is the far higher ranked player of the two, Parks actually won their one previous matchup and she has been playing more (and at a decent level) on clay so far this year. All things considered, it should be a very close match, decided by a few key points, with whoever manages to hold their nerve and execute better in those key moments coming through.
Prediction: Parks in 3
Jaqueline Cristian vs Yulia Starodubtseva
Head-to-head: Cristian 2-0 Starodubtseva
Cristian might the higher ranked player of the two, but she hasn’t been at her best lately while Starodubtseva has been playing a lot on clay so far this year and even made a fantastic run to the final in Charleston (only losing to Jessica Pegula). Given their recent form, Starodubtseva could well be the one advancing here.
Prediction: Starodubtseva in 3
Iga Swiatek vs Daria Snigur
Head-to-head: first meeting
While Swiatek is having an extremely disappointing 2026 for her standards, she is always a force to be reckoned with on clay and odds are that it is a matter of time until she turns things around. Regardless of Swiatek’s current form, it is highly unlikely that Snigur can produce the kind of level necessary to upset Swiatek here.
Prediction: Swiatek in 2
