In an interview with Sivasankari Talks, Swagatha alleged that around seven years ago, a popular Tamil composer sexually abused her inside his studio. She claimed the incident happened in a closed, soundproof room and was recorded on CCTV cameras, which were later used to threaten her. She also spoke about financial exploitation, stating that she lent money to the composer, which was never returned. According to her, this experience forced her to leave Chennai and step away from the film industry completely.
Swagatha Krishnan’s life after cinema
After leaving the industry, Swagatha moved to Rishikesh, where she has been running a business for the past few years. She has clearly stated that she has no plans to return to cinema. Interestingly, she is also the sister of Maya, known for her appearances in reality shows and stage performances. While Swagatha Krishnan has not named the accused, she stated that it is not one of the few popular composers, which has only fueled online speculation.
