She also spoke about financial exploitation, stating that she lent money to the composer, which was never returned. According to her, this experience forced her to leave Chennai and step away from the film industry completely.

After leaving the industry, Swagatha moved to Rishikesh, where she has been running a business for the past few years. She has clearly stated that she has no plans to return to cinema.
