Kieran McKenna could be hired by West Ham

According to the Express, West Ham could turn to Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna if they decide to part ways with Nuno.

He guided the Tractor Boys to back-to-back promotions, which also included a season in the Premier League.

McKenna coached at Manchester United from 2016 to 2021 and has since been the first-team coach of Ipswich.

McKenna would be the perfect Nuno replacement…😍

While he has been linked with Premier League clubs over the past couple of years, he has remained at Portman Road.

Currently, Ipswich are third in the Championship, so McKenna would have a big call to make if West Ham come calling.

He could back himself to return to the Premier League with Ipswich, but in case he does not, he knows he would have to hit the ground running at the London Stadium and keep the Hammers up.

What can West Ham fans expect from McKenna?

Unlike Nuno, who is known to put the defensive side of things first, McKenna is an attack-minded manager.

He is lauded for his attractive and proactive style of football, with his teams taking the game to the opposition.

McKenna typically deploys a 4-2-3-1 system, but there have been occasions where he’s played a back three as well.

His Ipswich sides are great at their attacking intent, even when they are underdogs, flooding the box and making the most of every chance.

They are quick on the transition and can be a potent threat on the break.

Players like Crysencio Summerville and Jarrod Bowen would thrive under his stewardship.

If McKenna is arriving, the hierarchy need to bring in a pacey number nine who’s capable of drifting wide in order to create space for the other players to attack the box.

This is an appointment that would excite the London Stadium faithful.
