Waze now shows traffic lights, but not for everyone yet

In testing for several months now, Waze is starting to roll out traffic lights more widely in navigation, but it’s still not available to everyone.

The ability to see traffic lights during map navigation can be super useful, especially in settings where a traffic light comes up on a long road. But while this has become a widely available part of Google Maps and Apple Maps, Waze has been lagging behind.

Waze was spotted testing traffic lights back in December 2025 and, now, it seems to be showing up for more users. There have been on-and-off reports of this for a couple of months, and a Reddit thread this week shows several more users seeing the feature, some within just the past week or two, others for longer.

Here’s a screenshot of traffic lights in Waze that u/yayoshorti shared, showing streets in the US:

It’s unclear when Waze will open up the floodgates on this one, but it’s certainly more widely available than it was a few months ago.

Sound off in the comments if you’re seeing traffic lights in Waze!
