Vivo X300 FE Launching With X300 Ultra, But Price May Shock Buyers

Vivo has traditionally positioned its FE (Fan Edition) models as more affordable alternatives that arrive a few months after the main lineup, offering similar core features at a lower price. However, recent leaks around the Vivo X300 FE suggest a shift in this strategy. Instead of following the usual pattern, the upcoming model may break expectations by not being the budget-friendly counterpart, hinting at a possible change in pricing or positioning within the lineup.

Vivo’s upcoming X300 FE could mark a major shift in its pricing strategy, according to tipster Sanju Choudhary. The phone is said to carry a box MRP of Rs 1,19,999, with a likely launch price around Rs 79,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant. If accurate, this would place it above the standard Vivo X300, which launched at Rs 75,999, making the “Fan Edition” branding feel less like an affordable option and more like a repositioned premium device.

This would be a clear departure from previous trends. For instance, the Vivo X200 FE launched significantly cheaper than the main X200, reinforcing the FE lineup’s role as a budget-friendly alternative. However, rising component and memory costs are reportedly driving prices higher, with estimates suggesting that the X300 itself might have been priced closer to Rs 95,000-Rs 1,00,000 if launched under current conditions.

At an expected price of around Rs 80,000, the X300 FE would enter the premium smartphone segment, competing with flagship rivals and even overlapping with Vivo’s own lineup. The device is said to feature a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset, a larger battery, and wireless charging, upgrades that could justify the higher price to some extent.

However, the trade-offs are notable. The X300 FE is expected to drop the 200MP ZEISS primary camera and downgrade the ultrawide sensor, making it less appealing for photography-focused users. This shifts the buying decision away from budget considerations and toward priorities, whether users value performance and battery life or superior camera hardware, making the final pricing crucial in determining its market appeal.
