2008–2023: Rumoured Couple Maintained Distance

After Kuruvi, Vijay and Trisha suddenly stopped working together — fueling gossip that their closeness during Ghilli had turned into something more. Rumours even did the rounds that Vijay’s family had asked him to keep his distance from Trisha post Kuruvi. Both stars, however, denied any romance, insisting they were “just friends.”

2023: Reunion With Leo

In 2023, Vijay and Trisha left their fans super excited when they reunited after 15 years for the film, Leo. In February 2026, TVK chief and actor Vijay’s wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam, moved a family in Tamil Nadu seeking divorce, alleging infidelity after more than 25 years of marriage. She accused Vijay of being involved in an extramarital relationship with an actress, stating that she became aware of the alleged relationship in 2021. It added that this discovery prompted her decision to seek legal separation. However, it should also be noted that the name of the actress, with whom Vijay is said to be in a relationship, was not revealed in the plea. However, netizens believed that it must have been Trisha.
