Video: Kingdom Hearts 3 Nintendo Switch 2 vs. PS5 vs. Steam Deck graphics comparison

Kingdom Hearts 3 got a demo on Nintendo Switch 2 after yesterday’s Nintendo Direct, and thanks to that, we’re able to see how this version holds up compared to the PlayStation 5 (via PS4 Pro backwards compatibility) and Steam Deck.

The Kingdom Hearts franchise will finally be appearing on Nintendo Switch 2 in the way fans have wanted. While prior games were put on Nintendo Switch, they were cloud versions, which required users to be online while playing.

Nintendo Switch 2 has the edge over Steam Deck in terms of performance. However, there are some aspects worth mentioning in relation to PS5.

First, it looks like Kingdom Hearts 3 has an unlocked frame rate on Nintendo Switch 2. On PS5, the game seems to be pretty much locked at 60 FPS. The Nintendo Switch 2 version is more in the 30 – 40 range.

Nintendo Switch 2 is largely comparable to PS5 in terms of graphical effects when docked. Worth noting though, there are some sacrifices on Nintendo’s console in handheld mode, such as with resolution and reflections.
