Video: Digimon Story: Time Stranger Nintendo Switch 2 vs. Switch vs. PS5 comparison

Following the arrival of the Digimon Story: Time Stranger demo for Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch, we have a closer comparison for these two versions while also throwing PS5 into the mix.

As previously mentioned, the Nintendo Switch 2 version has two modes. You can prioritize performance at 60 frames per second in exchange for lower resolution and settings. This impacts shadows in particular.

The maximum resolution you can get for Digimon Story: Time Stranger on Nintendo Switch 2 is an upscaled 4K when docked via Quality Mode. In portable mode, this is 1080p to match the system’s screen.

We’ll also mention that the Nintendo Switch version holds its own. You won’t get anything near the Nintendo Switch 2 or PS5 versions in terms of frame rate or resolution, but otherwise the team has left much in tact.

We have the full Digimon Story: Time Stranger Nintendo Switch 2 vs. Switch vs. PS5 comparison below.

Digimon Story: Time Stranger comes to both Nintendo Switch 2 and Switch on July 10, 2026. The game is confirmed to be getting big DLC later this year.
