Vera Wang is once again proving she knows how to get people talking.
On Monday, May 4, the 76-year-old designer turned heads at the Met Gala in a daring, barely-there look from her eponymous line that instantly set social media on fire. Fans quickly flooded X with reactions.
“More like Vera young amirite,” quipped one user.
“She looks better than most 40-year-olds,” one user wrote, while another joked, “Vera Wang out here making 30-year-olds feel bad about their gym progress.”
Others praised her confidence, with one fan declaring, “She absolutely nailed it!”

What’s her secret?
“Basically, I’ve worked my whole life, so it’s really been about work,” she told Page Six Style in an October 2023 interview. “I think work keeps you young and stimulated. I think keeping busy is the best antidote [for] good health.”
That mindset isn’t new for Wang. In a March 2025 interview with the BBC, the designer reflected on a decades-long career defined by reinvention — from becoming Vogue’s youngest editor at 23 to launching her namesake label at 40. She’s long pushed back on the idea that women “age out” of relevance, insisting success is less about age and more about personal style and resilience.
“I have never not felt that way,” she said.
