The Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) has issued legal notices to cricketers Tilak Varma, Ambati Rayudu and Mohammed Siraj, as well as actors Vijay Deverakonda and Venkatesh, over their reported association with the proposed TG20 League. The association has alleged that the tournament does not have approval from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

According to the notice, the TCA has claimed that the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) is conducting business with corporate entities without BCCI authorisation, and that promoting the proposed TG20 League without such approval amounts to an offence.

The association has also raised concerns regarding the league’s regulatory status and the potential implications of celebrity endorsements.

On the cricketing front, Tilak Varma is currently leading India A in a Tri-Series in Sri Lanka, while Siraj has been rested after initially being named in the squad for the upcoming T20I matches in Ireland and England. He played in all 17 games for Gujarat Titans in the IPL and also took part in the on-off Test between India and Afghanistan in Mullanpur.

The Tilak-led India A side defeated Afghanistan A on Wednesday to qualify for the tri-series final. The 23-year-old has scored three half-centuries in four matches in the tournament.

As of now, neither Vijay Deverakonda nor Venkatesh has publicly responded to the legal notices or the allegations made by the TCA.

The development comes at a time when both actors are occupied with major film projects. Venkatesh is currently shooting for *Adarsha Kutumbam*, directed by Trivikram.

Vijay Deverakonda is meanwhile working on director Rahul Sankrityan’s historical action-drama Ranabaali, which is slated for theatrical release on September 11, 2026. He is also simultaneously filming *Rowdy Janardhana*, a rural mass entertainer directed by Ravi Kiran Kola.

Ranabaali is being produced by Y. Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers in association with T-Series.
