Thousands celebrate Coventry City’s Premier League promotion

We’ve been open here at the Craftsman for not yet an hour and the flocks of Sky Blue clad masses are beginning to filter through the doors.

Landlord Paul here is hoping that he and his bar staff “keep on pouring” throughout the day especially in the run up to the passing through of the players in a couple of hours.

Fans Kelvin and Daniel will be heading over to the War Memorial Park hopefully in time for the 15:00 cut off, in what will be an emotional day:

“At lot of today will be the enjoyment of such an achievement. But we’ll also be sparing a thought for those who aren’t here to experience the festivities,” they said.

We also have four generations of Coventry City fans here at the Craftsman.

Val Lloyd was at the parade in 1987, and is joined with her entire family – son Craig, granddaughters Kerrie and Leanne and great-grandchildren Tommy and Grace.
