Robert Pattinson and Zendaya, two of the busiest actors in Hollywood, are teaming up for a romantic comedy — and so far, it’s one cloaked in mystery. On Tuesday, A24 gave fans a first look at the new film, The Drama.
In the film’s movie poster, Zendaya sits on Pattinson’s lap in what looks like a casual snapshot while showing off a sparkly engagement ring. The tagline? “You’re cordially invited to The Drama. Save the date.”
The poster’s copy — and the hunk of ice on Zendaya’s finger — suggests that the film will center on an engagement. While there’s certainly more information to come, here’s what we know about The Drama so far.

What is The Drama about?
The plot has mostly been kept under wraps, according to Deadline, which reported that it’s about a couple whose romance “takes an unexpected turn before their big day.” Meanwhile, IMDb says that in the film, a “happily engaged couple is put to the test when an unexpected revelation sends their wedding week off the rails.”
Who stars in The Drama?
In addition to Zendaya and Pattinson, the film’s cast includes Haim bandmate and Licorice Pizza star Alana Haim, as well as Black Box’s Mamoudou Athie and Marty Supreme’s Hailey Gates.
This will be the second time Zendaya and Pattinson have worked together. They’ll both star in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, which comes out July 17, 2026.
What else do we know?
The Drama will be directed by Kristoffer Borgli, who also directed the surreal dramedy Dream Scenario. His producing partner, Tyler Campellone, will also be a producer on the film, along with Hereditary director and A24 darling Ari Aster and his producing partner Lars Knudsen. Aster, who started his career in horror, typically makes movies with a heavy dose of strangeness (Beau Is Afraid, anyone?), suggesting he could bring the same approach to The Drama.
When will The Drama come out?
The Drama hits theaters on April 3, 2026.
