Upcoming Tata Kuno – What’s New?
The Tata Kuno will be one of 7 upcoming Tata cars, positioned as a compact EV for everyday urban use. The model is expected to be a ground-up EV based on Tata’s Acti.ev platform, which currently underpins all Tata SUVs except the Nexon.
Now, as the details about this model are scarce, we expect it to be positioned as an entry-level electric offering in Tata’s lineup. It can be positioned alongside the Nexon, but if it does, it could eventually hamper the Nexon’s long-term sales.

Being an entry-level electric car from the brand, Tata might not add loads of features, but the necessary ones. Some of the features it could get include a digital driver display, touchscreen infotainment, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, wireless charging, USB Type-C charging, ADAS, and six airbags. So, it can serve as a good upgrade for someone planning to buy a Tata Tiago EV. Battery pack details are still under wraps, but it could get the 24kWh and 30kWh battery packs from the Tiago and Nexon EVs. The 30kWh battery pack will offer a better range, making it an overall good product for everyday urban use.
The test mule has yet to be spotted, suggesting the launch is still some time away. That said, more details about this car are expected to be revealed soon as we near its launch, which we are expecting to happen by the end of 2027 or early 2028. Expect it to be priced between Rs 8 lakh and Rs 12 lakh (on-road, Mumbai).
