Steve Carell and his wife Nancy are known to keep a low profile, but the couple made a rare public appearance as animation executive Chris Meledandri received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame on June 10. Steve has a starring role in the Despicable Me franchise, which is produced by Meledandri’s studio, Illumination.
The Office alum sported a navy suit for the Los Angeles ceremony, pairing a peak-lapel jacket and trousers with a white button-down and a beige tie. Brown eyeglasses and lace-up shoes topped off his look.

Nancy, meanwhile, opted for a blue short-sleeve dress featuring an abstract print and a keyhole cutout. She accessorized with a gold necklace, a diamond-encrusted watch on a black leather strap, and nude open-toe heels.
Steve, who met Nancy 30 years ago, said he was “immediately attracted” to her in a 2013 interview with The Guardian.
“She’s beautiful, intelligent and really funny. She kind of checked all the boxes in my head, but I thought she hated me because she was very quiet around me,” Steve added.

The couple married in 1995, despite being “very timid” and “nervous” around one another. “The conversation would go something like, ‘Hey, you know, if I were ever to ask a woman out, it would be someone like you, exactly like you,'” Steve later told talk show host Ellen DeGeneres.
Six years after tying the knot, the Carells welcomed their daughter, Elisabeth Anne, followed by a son named John in 2004. Steve and Nancy have also collaborated professionally, as she once played Michael Scott’s girlfriend on NBC’s The Office.

The last time that Nancy and Steve were photographed together was in November 2025, when they sat courtside at a basketball game that saw the Brooklyn Nets face off againsts the Boston Celtics.
