Speaking to News18, Sara Ali Khan dismissed the idea of rivalry between the actresses and described the cast as one big family. She shared that she, Rakul, and Wamiqa are all very different individuals. They are also secure and confident in themselves. It naturally creates a healthier working environment.
Sara also credited director Mudassar Aziz for creating characters that are distinct from one another, leaving no space for unnecessary comparisons. According to her, even the styling, costumes, makeup, and overall presentation of the characters were carefully designed to highlight their individuality.
Talking about teamwork on film sets, Sara explained that actors benefit when everyone performs well. She said there is no point in thinking in terms of “my part” versus “her part” because ultimately it is “our film.” Praising Rakul, Sara added that a stronger performance from one actor only helps improve the film overall.
Rakul Preet Singh Calls Out Media And Social Media For Fueling False Narratives
While Sara focused on the supportive atmosphere on set, Rakul Preet Singh’s Pati Patni Aur Woh Do conversations online were dominated by discussions around so-called “catfights” between actresses.
Reacting to this, Rakul strongly criticised the way such narratives are often created by social media and sections of the media. She pointed out that repeated assumptions slowly begin to get treated as facts, even when there is no truth behind them.
Rakul explained that professional actors understand that every film matters to everyone involved. According to her, once actors have given their full effort to a project, the last thing they are interested in is unnecessary tension or rivalry.
She also mentioned that the long-standing belief that women in the industry do not get along is largely a manufactured narrative. In today’s social media-driven culture, people constantly create opinions and stories online, but that does not automatically make them true.
Pati Patni Aur Woh Do Set To Be Released On May 15
Directed by Mudassar Aziz, Pati Patni Aur Woh 2 stars Ayushmann Khurrana, Sara Ali Khan, Rakul Preet Singh, and Wamiqa Gabbi in lead roles. The film is scheduled to release in theatres on May 15.
