Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is shaping up to be the headline act at Samsung’s next Galaxy Unpacked event, which leaks suggest will take place in London on 22 July 2026.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8: Bigger battery, bolder design
According to multiple leaks, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to feature an 8‑inch 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED inner display and a 6.5‑inch cover screen, making it slightly larger and more comfortable to use than its predecessor. Rumours also point to a 5,000mAh battery with 45W wired fast charging, addressing one of the biggest complaints about earlier Fold models.
Inside, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is likely to run on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and as much as 1TB of storage, positioning it firmly in the ultra‑premium segment. Leaked camera specifications hint at a 200‑megapixel main sensor alongside an ultrawide and telephoto setup, while design tweaks are said to reduce the display crease and shrink the cover selfie camera.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide and Galaxy Z Flip 8
Samsung is also reportedly preparing a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Wide variant, with a shorter, broader form factor aimed at multitaskers and media lovers. Leaks suggest a 7.6‑inch inner display with a 4:3 aspect ratio, a 5.4‑inch cover screen and a similar 5,000mAh battery, again powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
On the clamshell side, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8 is tipped to offer a 6.9‑inch 120Hz inner display, a 4.1‑inch cover screen and a 4,300mAh battery with 25W charging, running on Samsung’s 2nm Exynos 2600 chipset in many markets. The Galaxy Z Flip 8 is also expected to ship with a 50‑megapixel main camera and 10‑megapixel selfie camera, plus 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage.
Galaxy Glasses and Galaxy Watch 9 join the Fold 8
This Unpacked 2026 event may go well beyond phones. Samsung is widely expected to unveil its first “Galaxy Glasses” smart eyewear, developed with eyewear brand Gentle Monster and based on Google’s Android XR platform. Early reports indicate the glasses will not include a display but will instead integrate microphones, speakers and a camera to enable hands‑free access to an AI assistant.
Alongside Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8, the company is also rumoured to launch the Galaxy Watch 9 series, expanding its connected ecosystem of wearables. If the leaks prove accurate, Unpacked 2026 could mark one of Samsung’s most ambitious pushes yet into foldables, AI‑enabled wearables and smart glasses, signalling a confident new phase for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 family.
