The second season of Samay Raina’s comedy show ‘India’s Got Latent’ will be released on Netflix and YouTube, the comedian has announced. Following the success of the first season, fans have eagerly awaited the show’s return. Originally launched on YouTube, the series will now debut simultaneously on Netflix and YouTube, with episodes available on both platforms at the same time and identical durations.

In the announcement video, Samay Raina and his friend Balraj Singh shared details about the new season, noting that the show is expected to be unfiltered. Netflix also promoted the announcement on their Instagram account.

Content creator Ashish Chanchlani commented humorously on the announcement, referencing the controversy surrounding the show’s first season. In the comment section, Chanchlani wrote, “Is baar disclaimer daal dena please case ladne mein easy hota hai (Please put disclaimer this time please. It helps in fighting cases).”

Samay Raina recently returned to the public eye after over a year away, following controversy linked to ‘India’s Got Latent’. His debut stand-up special titled ‘Still Alive’, released on YouTube, has garnered over 53.4 million views. According to a statement, it is the most-watched full-length stand-up comedy special worldwide from a single upload on a single platform.

With this milestone, Raina is the first comedian to hold the record for the most-viewed stand-up special globally on a single video platform upload. The 1-hour and 21-minute performance addresses the ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy, Raina’s year-long break from public appearances, personal and financial struggles, childhood bullying, his Kashmiri Pandit background, mental health, and the support he received from fans and close friends.

The initial ‘India’s Got Latent’ controversy dates back to February last year when panellists Ranveer Allahbadia, Ashish Chanchlani, and Apoorva Mukhija appeared on the show. A remark by Allahbadia provoked widespread backlash, resulting in FIRs being filed against Samay Raina and others involved. Following the incident, Raina removed the show from YouTube, and Allahbadia later issued a public apology.

Despite the challenges, Samay Raina has confirmed that a second season of India’s Got Latent is in development.
