Suki Waterhouse explains how Robert Pattinson impacted her new music album

Suki Waterhouse recently spoke to Variety about her upcoming album. Between this album and her previous releases, Waterhouse has experienced several major personal changes, including becoming a mother.

In the interview, Waterhouse discussed the experience of motherhood and how it changed her relationship with Robert Pattinson. She also cited this evolving relationship as an influence on her upcoming album, Loveland.

“The music that I was making when I first started was very much in reaction to toxic relationships and heartbreak and that painful rollercoaster of girlhood,” she said of her earlier work after speaking about how she and Robert fell in love. “And it’s been interesting this time around to have my heart cracked open in a different way.”

She continued, “I felt like my identity had been cut open in becoming a mother and also having a lot of expectations on myself. Internally, there’s been quite a lot of turmoil and just wondering if I’m doing the right thing. And especially, oh my God, the hormones right after you have a baby are so intense.”

“It’s like [I got] belief back in myself, and then also being … I don’t want to say back in love with my partner. This is because it sounds like I was out of it, which I was never. But it’s also a new relationship. Your old relationship has been wiped out, and so it’s building that new one and kind of celebrating the beauty in that, like, we’ve survived this,” Waterhouse further noted.

The connection between Pattinson and the album extends beyond Waterhouse’s comments about motherhood and relationships. According to Variety, Loveland draws on themes of family and love. It does so with tracks such as Back in Love, Tiny Raisin, Morals, and Weirdo reflecting aspects of the couple’s life together.

The influence can be seen throughout the album. Its opening track, Back in Love, explores themes of reconnecting and rebuilding after major life changes. Other songs reportedly reference family life and Waterhouse’s relationship with Pattinson, further reflecting the personal experiences that shaped the record.

Waterhouse’s upcoming album, Loveland, will be released on July 10, 2026.
