There had already been one awkward moment between Ian Bishop and Rishabh Pant ahead of the Lucknow Super Giants’ (LSG) match against the Rajasthan Royals (RR) in Jaipur on Tuesday.
It got more uncomfortable after that as Pant ended his customary post-match chat with the former West Indies pacer by saying, ‘We are a fu****g good team’. Bishop asked Pant about what he thought about the team, which was placed tenth after a ninth loss in IPL 2026.

“We are proud as a team regardless of what our situation is right now,” Pant said. “The kind of team we have, we know we can win this. Regardless of anything, we are confident enough as a team and as individuals. It hasn’t gone our way, and everyone knows that, but that doesn’t take away the fact that we are a fu****g good team,” he concluded.
Pant again hints at ‘too many suggestions’ in the team
Pant has been under extreme pressure. After a seventh-placed finish last year, LSG are tenth. Pant has struggled personally with the bat as well as while using his bowling resources.
Even against RR, he didn’t use Mohsin Khan’s third over against Vaibhav Sooryavanshi until the latter was in the high 80s, before the left-arm pacer eventually got him out. But just like a few days ago, he hinted in the match that there have been too many ‘suggestions’ in his ears behind the scenes.
“It’s definitely a difficult one for sure because you always want to back your bowlers, but sometimes it’s hard,” Pant said. “On a wicket like this, there is less margin for the bowlers and having too many suggestions doesn’t work out. Sometimes you have to keep a simple plan, keep focusing one ball at a time and just try to execute the plan,” he added.
LSG play their final match of IPL 2026 against the Punjab Kings on May 23.
