Report: Jacob Fatu legitimately injured, WWE “mulling over alternative plans” for title match

According to PWInsider, in an update on WWE’s Jacob Fatu, the former United States Champion suffered a legitimate injury during his match in Liverpool, England Thursday against Solo Sikoa.

It was initially reported earlier on Friday that Fatu was seen limping to the backstag area after the match, but at the time it could not be confirmed if the injury was legitimate or if Fatu was just selling.

Mike Johnson of the publication also has confirmed WWE is concerned that Fatu may not be cleared in time for his title match on Sunday and that the company is mulling over alternative plans in the event they need to pivot.

Fatu was set to challenge Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in a Tribal Combat Match at this Sunday’s Clash in Italy premium live event.

We will continue to provide more updates as they become available.
