Renault is getting ready to bring the Duster Hybrid to India later this year, and this could easily become the most important version of the SUV. While the petrol Duster is already on sale, the hybrid model is expected to arrive around the Diwali festive season.
With rising fuel prices and growing interest in hybrid cars, Renault seems to be aiming directly at buyers who want better mileage without giving up SUV performance.
Hybrid Setup Promises Strong Performance
The new Duster Hybrid will come with a 1.8-litre petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a small battery pack. Renault will also use a hybrid starter generator to improve efficiency and smoother power delivery.
Together, the setup is expected to produce around 160bhp and 172Nm, which would make the Duster Hybrid one of the more powerful hybrid SUVs in this segment.
The focus here is not just fuel savings, but also offering a smooth and effortless driving experience in both city traffic and on highways.

Mileage Could Be a Big Highlight
One of the biggest talking points of the Duster Hybrid will likely be its fuel efficiency. Renault is targeting a mileage figure of around 24-26kmpl, which is impressive for a midsize SUV.
The company is also aiming for a driving range of close to 1,000 km on a full tank, giving it the kind of long-distance capability buyers usually expect from diesel SUVs.
This could make the Duster Hybrid especially attractive for people who travel frequently or use their cars for long highway drives.
Expected Price Range
The Renault Duster Hybrid is expected to be priced between Rs 19 lakh and Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom).
That would place it in the premium midsize SUV category, where hybrid technology is slowly becoming more popular among Indian buyers.
Renault’s Big Push Towards Hybrids
The Duster Hybrid is expected to play a key role in Renault’s future India plans. The company is looking to strengthen its SUV lineup while also moving towards cleaner and more fuel-efficient technologies.
With strong mileage, good performance, and long driving range, the Duster Hybrid could end up appealing to both family SUV buyers and people upgrading from diesel vehicles.
