Destiny 2 Renegades launches today with Update 9.5.0. Here is our breakdown of the release time, pre-load start, downtime, file size, and storage space you need on every platform.

Destiny 2 Renegades is finally here, bringing a new Star Wars-inspired story that pulls players into the criminal underbelly on Mars. You will be working shady jobs in the Lawless Frontier activity, getting loot in a new Equilibrium dungeon, and unlocking new Exotics like the Praxic Blade, which is the Destiny’s version of the iconic Lightsaber swords.

On top of that, Bungie is rolling out a full slate of Renegade abilities, letting you call in things like airstrikes and support tools during activities. Alongside all of that content, Renegades also brings a ton of sandbox changes with a hefty update 9.5.0. (full patch notes here)

Destiny 2 Renegades pre-load start time

Preload timing for the new Renegades update is a bit different depending on where you play.

On PlayStation, you can manually start pre-downloading from December 2 after 8 AM PST by going to Destiny 2, pressing Options, and hitting Check for Updates. Some players with auto update enabled may see the download early from November 30 after 8 AM PST.

On Xbox, Steam, Epic Games Store, and Microsoft Store on PC, pre-load starts shortly after the game goes offline for maintenance at 8 AM PST on December 2. Once that window hits, the Renegades update should appear in your download queue on its own.
