Xiaomi has confirmed that the upcoming Redmi Turbo 5 will feature the largest battery ever seen on a Redmi smartphone, highlighting the company’s focus on long-lasting performance. Ahead of its June 16 launch in India, the brand has revealed that the device will combine its massive battery with fast-charging capabilities, aiming to reduce charging downtime while delivering extended usage. Through its Amazon microsite, Xiaomi has positioned the Redmi Turbo 5 as a performance-oriented smartphone targeted at the upper mid-range segment, marking the company’s push into a category where it has traditionally had limited presence.
Massive Battery Takes Centre Stage
The Redmi Turbo 5’s standout feature is its enormous 7,540mAh battery, making it one of the largest power packs available in a mainstream smartphone. Paired with 100W HyperCharge support, the device is designed to offer extended usage while minimizing charging times. Although the Chinese variant reportedly includes a slightly larger 7,560mAh battery, the difference is unlikely to affect real-world performance. With this capacity, the phone is expected to comfortably last more than a day under typical usage conditions.
Display and Cameras Aim for a Balanced Experience
Redmi has equipped the Turbo 5 with a 1.5K resolution display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate, promising sharper visuals and smoother scrolling than conventional Full-HD panels. On the camera front, the smartphone is confirmed to feature a 50-megapixel main sensor with both optical and electronic image stabilization, alongside an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens. Selfie duties will be handled by a 20-megapixel front-facing camera.

Performance Focused on Speed and Gaming
Under the hood, the Redmi Turbo 5 will be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8500 processor, paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. This hardware combination is expected to deliver faster app launches, smoother multitasking, and improved gaming performance. The device is likely to compete directly with other upper mid-range smartphones, including offerings from rival brands in the performance-focused segment.
Premium Features Add to the Appeal
Beyond battery life and performance, the Redmi Turbo 5 is expected to include several premium features such as an in-display fingerprint scanner, dual stereo speakers, an X-axis linear vibration motor, and an IR blaster. The handset is also tipped to feature a metal frame and IP68/IP69-rated dust and water resistance, enhancing durability. While the specifications make it a compelling option for power users, its overall value proposition will depend on the pricing that Xiaomi reveals at launch.
