The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ and the iQOO 15R feature powerful Snapdragon chipsets, impressive display specifications, high-end camera setups, all designed to set a new bar in the mid-range smartphone market. While the iQOO 15R will launch in India on February 24, its price is expected to be similar to that of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+. Notably, the latter is a recent launch as well, having released at the end of January 2026.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ comes with the Redmi Titan structure that features reinforced internal mid-frame for added durability. The Gorilla Glass Victus 2 also delivers protection for the screen. It also comes with IP66/IP68/IP69 and IP69K for water and dust resistance.

The iQOO 15R offers a tactile experience with aviation-grade metal frame for premium-flagship level durability. However, it features only the IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ features a 6.83-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution and a peak brightness of 3200 nits delivers impressive visual clarity, while the PWM dimming provides eye protection.

On the other hand, the iQOO 15R features a smaller 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz. Despite a smaller screen, the higher refresh rate will attract a lot of gamers. Besides, it also features 1.5K resolution and a significantly higher peak brightness setting of 5500 nits.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ features a Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipset. Built on a 4nm process, the octa-core chipset features one prime, three performance, and four efficiency cores, clocking a boost frequency of 2.7 GHz.

The iQOO 15R comes equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 chipset. This octa-core chipset is built with an advanced 3nm process, packing in two prime and six performance cores clocking a maximum boost frequency of 3.8 GHz. So, the iQOO 15R’s chipset is much better when it comes to overall performance.


Memory and storage

The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ variants arrive with 8 GB/12 GB LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB/512 GB UFS 2.2 internal storage. On the other hand, the iQOO 15R variants arrive with 12 GB/16 GB LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and up to 1 TB UFS 4.1 storage.

The 12 GB/ 256 GB variant of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ costs around ₹40,000. While the iQOO 15R still awaits its global launch, the same variant is expected to be available at a sub-50K pricing.


Camera and battery

The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ features a 200MP Samsung HPE sensor with OIS + 8 MP ultra-wide rear camera, and with a 32 MP front camera. Meanwhile, the iQOO 15R packs a 200 MP Samsung GN sensor with OIS + 8 MP ultra-wide lens and a 32 MP front camera.

So, while the Redmi phone delivers natural skin textures and portrait mode, if you need high-contrast and Instagram-ready pictures, the iQOO 15R will be the best fit for you.

While the Redmi smartphone features a 6,500 mAh battery, the iQOO 15R offers a 7,600 mAh battery. As such, the latter can deliver a lasting runtime per full charge.

Final verdict: Which is the better smartphone?

The iQOO 15R is the better smartphone between these two. Despite having a smaller screen size, it features a higher refresh rate, a better chipset with higher boost frequency, modern RAM and memory types, and a larger battery for longer runtime. The device is also expected to arrive at a lower price than that of the Redmi Note 15 Pro+ smartphone.
