Realme Ensures Safety of Its Massive 10,001mAh Battery Smartphone

Buying a new smartphone has become a seamless experience for consumers, thanks to online platforms like Flipkart and Amazon. However, behind the convenience lies a complex process of research, development, and rigorous testing to ensure safety and reliability. The upcoming Realme P4 Power, set to launch in India on January 29, features an impressive 10,001mAh battery, prompting the company to showcase its extensive testing protocols to address safety concerns associated with high-capacity batteries.

Intensive Battery Testing

At Realme’s facility, the P4 Power’s battery underwent a series of rigorous tests designed to ensure its durability and safety. One of the first tests involved dropping the fully charged 10,001mAh battery from a height of one meter onto a concrete surface. This drop test was conducted on all six sides of the battery, and remarkably, it showed no visible damage, leakage, or signs of fire, demonstrating its resilience against accidental drops.

Following the drop tests, the battery was subjected to a bending test, where it was bent at a 90-degree angle. Even under this extreme stress, the battery maintained its structural integrity, with no leakage or abnormal reactions observed. The testing continued with a temperature shock assessment, cycling the battery between minus 40 degrees Celsius and 75 degrees Celsius over six-hour intervals. Throughout these tests, the battery exhibited stable performance without any abnormal behavior.

Longevity testing was also a crucial aspect of the evaluation process. Realme simulated real-world usage by conducting repeated charging and discharging cycles at various temperatures. The battery was tested at 45 degrees Celsius to mimic typical high-temperature usage, 55 degrees Celsius for extreme heat, and zero degrees Celsius for cold conditions. Each cycle took about four hours, allowing for up to six cycles per day. Over a nine-month verification period, the battery consistently delivered stable results.

Full-Device Testing

Realme’s testing protocols extend beyond the battery to encompass the entire smartphone. One of the initial tests involves a one-meter directional drop test, conducted using a mechanical apparatus for consistency. After each drop, technicians inspect the device for any damage. The P4 Power demonstrated stability throughout this rigorous process.

To simulate everyday low-height drops, Realme performed micro-drop tests, where the device was dropped from a height of just 10 centimeters. This test was repeated 14,000 times, covering all sides of the phone to replicate minor accidents that often occur during daily use. Additionally, the device was subjected to stress tests that simulate the pressure exerted when a phone is carried in a pocket. A 25kg load was applied to the phone for two seconds, repeated 1,000 times, with no signs of bending or abnormal battery behavior observed.

The testing also included torsion assessments to evaluate how the device responds to twisting forces. Throughout these tests, the battery remained stable, further reinforcing its reliability. Environmental factors were also taken into account, with the phone exposed to high heat and humidity conditions of 65 degrees Celsius and 90 percent relative humidity. Even under these extreme conditions, the battery continued to perform without any abnormalities.

Commitment to Safety and Reliability

Realme’s comprehensive testing procedures reflect the company’s commitment to ensuring the safety and reliability of its products, especially with the introduction of the P4 Power’s large battery. As consumers increasingly rely on smartphones for various tasks, the importance of rigorous testing cannot be overstated. The extensive battery and device testing protocols not only enhance user confidence but also set a benchmark for safety standards in the smartphone industry.

By showcasing these testing processes, Realme aims to reassure potential buyers about the safety of the P4 Power. As the launch date approaches, the company is poised to deliver a device that not only boasts impressive specifications but also prioritizes user safety through meticulous engineering and testing.
