Performance

The Realme 15T has the advantage when it comes to raw processing power, thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Max chipset. While the difference may not be massive during regular usage, the 15T is expected to deliver slightly better gaming performance and multitasking efficiency compared to the Dimensity 6300 inside the Realme 16T.

The Realme 16T is still more than capable for everyday tasks like social media, streaming, browsing, and casual gaming. It also comes in both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants, giving buyers more flexibility depending on their budget. However, users looking for a stronger chipset and potentially better long-term performance may find the 15T to be the better option overall.

Display

Display is one area where the Realme 16T clearly pushes ahead on paper. It features a larger 6.81-inch AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, which should provide comparatively smoother animations and scrolling. Users who play competitive games may appreciate the higher refresh rate.

That said, the Realme 15T still offers a very capable 6.57-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. For most users, the display differences between the phones may not be dramatic. Some users may even prefer the slightly smaller screen size of the 15T because it could feel easier to handle during one-handed use.

Camera

The two phones share a similar rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary sensor and a 2MP secondary lens. Both devices also support 1080p video recording at 60fps, meaning general photography and video performance should remain fairly comparable between the two.

The bigger difference appears on the front camera side. The Realme 15T includes a 50MP selfie camera, while the Realme 16T uses a 16MP front sensor. This gives the 15T a noticeable advantage for selfies and video calls.

Battery life

The new Realme 16T packs a massive 8000mAh battery, which is significantly larger than the already impressive 7000mAh battery on the Realme 15T. Heavy users who spend long hours gaming, streaming, or traveling without frequent access to charging will likely benefit from the extra capacity.

Final Verdict

The Realme 16T is not a straightforward upgrade over the Realme 15T. It is also not often that a successor ends up feeling less capable than the device it replaces, but that appears to be the case here.

Despite being the older smartphone, the Realme 15T still comes across as the more well-rounded and capable option overall, especially for users who value performance and camera quality over battery capacity alone.

However, users who want the best possible battery life and a larger high-refresh-rate display may prefer the new 16T.
