PSG scores quickly to take control of Champions League semifinal over Bayern Munich as Arsenal awaits winner

When asked in a post-game interview who Arsenal would rather face in the final, star forward Bukayo Saka – fresh off scoring the decisive goal at the Emirates – responded, “You know deep down who we’d want to face. That’s all I’ll say.”

It has left many speculating over which team the Englishman could have been referring to.

It was PSG who knocked Arsenal out of the competition last season at the semifinal stage, so Mikel Arteta’s side could be out for revenge.

However, there is another school of thought.

On Matchday 5 of the league phase earlier this season, Arsenal comfortably dispatched Bayern Munich 3-1 at the Emirates. Could the Gunners fancy its chances of getting the better of Vincent Kompany’s side again?

It’s impossible to know – but the open-ended nature of Saka’s response does make this a fun exercise.

The reality is Arsenal will be viewed as underdogs against both Bayern and PSG in the final. But we’ve seen many an underdog defy the odds before.
