Even as she navigates life across continents, Global Icon Priyanka Chopra Jonas remains desi at heart and deeply committed to ensuring her daughter Malti Marie Jonas grows up connected to her Indian heritage. During her recent appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show, PeeCee opened up about how she keeps her daughter rooted in Indian culture despite living abroad. When Archana Puran Singh asked what aspects of growing up in India Malti Marie might miss, Priyanka’s response was both heartwarming and reassuring.

“She travels to India often. She accompanied me to Hyderabad, she’s been to Mumbai, she’s been to Delhi and even came with me to Ayodhya. I’ve always tried my best to make sure that she is familiarised with Indian culture and traditions, as much as possible,” she shared.

But perhaps the most endearing revelation came when Priyanka described her young daughter’s relationship with traditional Indian attire. “Whenever she puts on her ghagra-choli, she calls herself an ‘Indian princess’. She loves her ghagras and bindis and bangles, which I always take for her,” the actress revealed with visible ‘Mommy’ pride.

Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas got married in December 2018. The couple welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie Chopra Jonas via surrogacy in January 2022.

Meanwhile, Priyanka Chopra is all set to return to Bollywood soon with SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi. The film, which also stars Mahesh Babu in the lead, is indeed one of the most anticipated films. While the shooting of the mega movie is currently, it has been reported that PeeCee will be seen playing a character named Mandakini in Rajamouli’s sci-fi action-adventure.

During her preparation for Varanasi, the actress made headlines by confirming she will dub her own Telugu dialogues in the film. In response to a query from a fan on Instagram, she only said, “Yes, I am. Practising hard.”
