Premier League: Which teams won the fewest points in a season?

With just two points gained from 14 games so far this season, Wolves could challenge Derby County for the unwanted honour of winning the fewest points in a single Premier League season.

The Rams picked up just 11 points from a possible 114 across 38 games in the 2007-08 season.

They won one game, drew eight, and lost 29, scoring 20 goals and conceding 89 to finish on a goal difference of -69 in a season to forget at Pride Park.

The other two teams relegated that season, Reading and Birmingham City, finished on 36 and 35 points respectively, with goal differences of -25 and -16.

Derby averaged just 0.29 points per game, while Wolves are currently averaging 0.14 points per match.

With 24 games to go, Wolves are set to finish on just five points if they continue at their current points per game rate.

Opta’s supercomputer has calculated Wolves have a 98.05% chance of finishing in the bottom three by the end of the season, with just a 1.41% probability of finishing 17th and a 0.41% chance of finishing 16th.
