Nissan Patrol Coming To India!

Nissan has hinted at bringing the iconic Nissan SUV to India for the first time. It has remained silent in the market for quite some time, but it is ready to get back in the game. It hopes to strengthen its brand portfolio in India with the Patrol. Not to mention, it also has other launches, like the Nissan Tekton, lined up. Everyone has heard tales about the Patrol’s abilities and will finally get to experience them firsthand.

The Patrol is a 5.18-m-long SUV and, as expected, commands road presence. The looks are no-nonsense, and it looks built for purpose. Its gigantic proportions translate into practical, roomy interiors. So let’s go in-depth on what you get when you step inside.

Nissan Patrol – Features & Specification

The Patrol is packed with features. It gets luxuries like – tri-zone climate control, an ADAS suite, powered tailgate, 14.3-inch infotainment screen, 14.3-inch digital driver’s display, dual 12.3-inch screens for rear entertainment, wireless charging, headsup display, air suspension and much more.

You get two engine options in global markets- 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 petrol (425bhp & 700Nm) and a 3.8-litre V6 petrol (316bhp & 386Nm). Both these engines are offered with a 9-speed AT and a 4WD drivetrain. We expect the 3.8-litre V6 to come to India. It is quite surprising that an SUV like the Patrol doesn’t get a diesel option. While the LC300 and the Patrol are neck and neck in off-road capability, the lack of a diesel option is a bit of a letdown.

Nissan Patrol – Will It Be Expensive?

Yes. Nissan has confirmed that it will be brought in as a CBU unit. This means you have to be ready to empty your wallets when it launches. We expected it to be priced between Rs 2.5 crore and Rs 3 crore (on-road, Mumbai). Toyota sold 83 units of the LC300 last month, and if Nissan achieves even half of those with the Patrol, it can be deemed a success.

It could be launched in the early months of 2027. However, it has other launches like the Gravite turbo-petrol, Tekton, Tekton hybrid and the 7-seater version of the Tekton lined up, which could push the Patrol’s launch to mid- to late-2027. Indians have been awaiting the Middle Eastern icon’s launch in India, and we are now closer than ever.
